This is an amount that is put on hold by your banking provider. Note that this amount might show up as a charge on your receipt, but don’t be alarmed as this is only a hold and it will show a pending transaction on your bank, and as such, your funds will be released after 2 weeks. This is done for our financial protection against any damages or other charges you may incur during your rental period.
The security deposit will be released 2 weeks after the rental vehicle has been returned. This is so we may account for any potential charges you might have incurred during your rental period, as the Vehicle Ministry can take upwards of 2-4 weeks to bill any tickets or fines.
A security deposit is not a charge, rather it is a holding of funds. If you used your credit card for the deposit, then the funds will automatically be released 2 weeks after the vehicle is returned. If you used your debit card, then the funds will have to be released manually. To do this, ensure it has been two weeks since your vehicle was returned, then contact your ICR rental location during office hours and we will assist you.
Please email your ICR rental location with your name, phone number, claim number, policy number, and reason for vehicle replacement. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Our limit is 3000 km. This limit is in place to discourage commercial use of our vehicles, which is strictly prohibited.

We will notify you when your vehicle is needed for an oil change. If you do not receive any notification, contact the number on your rental agreement and we will try our best to service you as soon as possible.
If you accrue any tire damage, vehicle towing charges, lose your vehicle keys, or any other service expenses, you are fully liable for the charges. We provide lockout service so if need be, contact your ICR rental location (fees applied).
You are not permitted to take your rental vehicle outside of Canada.
In this case, you must contact your insurance company and ask for an extension until your total-loss cheque is received. It is your responsibility to make sure that your insurance company notifies your ICR Rental location regarding the extension, otherwise you will be fully liable for the extra-day charges.

To find this, check your gas tank indicator. The direction of the arrow on the indicator will show you which side the gas tank is located. Normally, your gas tank will be located on the driver’s side of the car.
